What is 'CROP BOOSTERS'?

                                                  'CROP BOOSTERS' are a mixture of nutrients and growth regulators. 

In plant cultivation, these boosters are used to stimulate the growth of the plant and increase the yield of the crop and at the same time, it will benefit the grower.

TNAU has developed some of the Crop Boosters that are given below;

TNAU COCONUT TONIC:

A crop booster that stimulates the growth of coconut

Benefits:

• Cracking on the nut will be controlled
• Increases chlorophyll content and greenness of leaves
• Improves photosynthetic efficiency of leaves
• Decreases button shedding
• Nut size will be increased
• Increases nut yield up to 20%
• Increases drought tolerance
• Increases longevity and vigor of the palm
•  Imparts resistance to pests, diseases and environmental stresses

Application:

• Root feeding of the tonic @ 200ml/tree - twice per year at six months interval

• 1 litre of concentrate tonic can be diluted with 4 litres of water to make 5 litres of tonic.

Root feeding of TNAU coconut tonic:

• Dig the soil 3ft away from the trunk.
• Select pink or yellowish colored feeding root of pencil thickness
• Give a slanting cut at the top of the selected root.
•  Insert the root in a polythene bag containing the tonic solution (200ml)
• Tie the polythene bag using thread
• The solution will be absorbed within 24 hours if the soil is not wet. Avoid root feeding during the rainy season.

TNAU PULSE WONDER:

A crop booster that stimulates the growth of  Pulse.

Benefits:

• Increases drought tolerance.
• Decreases flower shedding.
• Increases yield up to 20%

Application:

• Dose               : 2.0kg/Acre
• Spray volume : 200 litres
• Stage of spray :  Peak flowering
• Cost                 : Rs.200/kg
• Add an adequate quantity of wetting agent

TNAU GROUNDNUT RICH:

A crop booster that stimulates the growth of  Groundnut.

Benefits:

• Improves drought tolerance.
• More flower retention
• Improves pod filling
• Improves pod yield up to 15%

Application:

• Dose               : 2kg/Acre (2 sprays)
• Spray volume : 200 liters
• Stage of spray : Peak flowering and pod development

TNAU COTTON PLUS:
